What is GATE Exam?

The GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a comprehensive examination for degree holders in engineering and science subjects. This exam is organized by one or more of the IITs in India along with the IISc Bangalore and is intended for admission to postgraduate courses such as the M.Tech or PhD programs in reputed institutions and universities, with the additional aim of facilitating the recruitment service of various public sector enterprises.
